my heart is memory foam and though you're long gone now there's still an empty space from where I let you in sinking your weight into the softest parts of me, a gradual give. they say it's therapeutic, how it molds to cradle your body, your needs. instead, I see it as a cruel joke. holding onto what's been lost and never learning to let go. shaped by the weight of someone who is no longer there.
