I turn around– I don’t know why I do it I just…do And there you are I turn– and see a little girl with a melodic laugh ,more like a giggle to be honest I turned and see her boasting that she had many friends so many friends not knowing they were all in her head I turn seeing her eyes full life her eyes which take everything she sees as good which doesn’t know the shadows that lurk where the light shines brightest The way the dark waits Not in corners— in people. In you. she was but a little girl her dark messy brown hair her deep chocolate eyes And I stand here, looking at you— at me— and it hurts in a way I can’t explain without breaking you Because you don’t know what you’ll become Because I do. How i wish to be her once more
