For seaside air I went Sat at the bank cool and adventurous Looking at the sea with its open tide As fate bid me I spied a figure Wanting, toiling furiously the path of suicide Death, said I, be not proud Though some called the mighty For thou wouldest have her not No! No! Not on my watch and up i rose I came to her, we met Fair lady, What brought to do this you A savage manner to end thy life My manners, I asked with a frown I'm tired and weary, wounded from backstab Pressed by troubles and broken by distrust And suprises hath knocked me out I'm done with life, I wanna go home To find my rest in the great beyond Said she, tying harder the knot Come, sit, come, sit, but this do not Said I possessing all from her Look at the sky when the sun is down It has a hope, the moon and stars See, after every night of gloom There's always a raisin the sun See, like the Maji after harsships You'll come to a temperate valley With a mill beating the darkness But this, fair lady do not And she did it not Now I remember her in ages Looking back far then, I smile That she now a laurel of hope To my stray mind, wandering from the way
