My eyes have forgotten the language of wandering; They search for no horizon but you. In every crowded room, every silent dawn, My soul still counts the distance to your heart. Your absence is not silence— It is an ache that echoes through my ribs. The night offers its pleasures, Yet none can compete with the peace of your presence. You are the home my heart prayed for Before it even knew your name. My soul found its reflection in yours, And every road since has led back to you. I want to see creation through your eyes, To find beauty where you find it, To laugh where your spirit dances, And to grow old watching the same sunsets together. She is my answered prayer, And I am her willing promise. The world may keep its temptations— My heart signed its covenant long ago. The marketplace of affection has closed its doors. No more chasing empty applause, No more pouring oceans into hands That never intended to hold water. I have learned that love is not performance. It asks for honesty, not applause; Faithfulness, not fascination; Presence, not perfection. Never will I become the reason Her smile forgets how to bloom. Never will I trade a lifetime For the passing shadow of desire. She knows the chambers of my heart, And I know the rhythm of hers. If love is a vow written in eternity, Then let our names be inked upon the same page. Should time steal our youth And silver crown our hair, My eyes will still search for you first, As they did when love first taught them where to look. I will love you beyond seasons, Beyond distance, beyond breath itself. Forever and ever— Amen.
