Crime starts when the Mind betrays the Conscience, and it becomes the Greatest Sin, for the betrayal is for Nothing. But the conscience holds the Power to become the Punishment— the isolation, guilt, suffering, fever, paranoia, and, ultimately, Redemption. Redemption offers fresh air, fresh air, fresh air, and flings straight into Life, rescuing from the hold of Mind. A small tribute to one of the greatest novels I have ever read. Some books are read. Others are lived. Crime and Punishment was one of the latter for me.
