I like a wallflower For a wall is only a slab of cement Until greeted by the flutter of petals and butterflies. I have never envied the cries Of the centre stage character For I need not be adorned and muscular, Flooded by the stage lights To be content. As a wallflower I know each disagreement And all those that lead to fights, I notice each backhanded compliment And where each stare will land. I am far from popular in this lifetime But I adore where I stand.
