A place in time You are not a good line. You scribble in between her stanzas Making her words unreadable and misunderstood. You erase the words you wish not to see Even though she had stated you aren’t meant to be. You change her narrative You make her question her own writing. You force her to continue reading the story When she has tried to close the covers and set it on the bookshelf Shoving it behind the others wanting dust to reside within the pages. You are merely a chapter she wishes to delete It’s time to go and walk away And for the sake of literature and all things that hold beauty, I hope you don’t find another prey.
