A Sufi, whirls in endless flight, Lost in love, absorbed in light, Beyond all times, beyond all space, He seeks his master's boundless grace. He bows and cries to his master; Annihilate me, O master -set me free! I've written thousands of letters! In which God has not yet decreed, A Sufi, laying down in the garden, Alone, he talks and cries to his Lord; Have I not drunk the wine, am I a burden? The Sufi said; There's nothing I can afford. A Sufi turns itself into worthless dust, Then the poor met the worthless rich, Why, why can't I erase this harmful lust? The Sufi said, 'Keep digging the ditch.'
