I bought a toaster recently. With it came an instruction manual: **How to toast bread:** – Plug in the toaster – Insert slices of bread – Set browning level – Press the lever down – Wait for the pop – Remove with care I had a bun in the oven, too. But once the lever was down for me, it felt like every button was being pushed — then somehow released. A faulty machine, still hard at work — baking, creating... The worst part was taking it out. No automation. Just hours of pushing it manually. This time, the bread was waiting, not the baker. And once it’s out, you can’t eat it. You let it consume what life you had before, what dreams you had before, charring it black — like the back of your mind. There was no instruction manual for this part. Or for any of the parts that followed.
