Such a magnificent creature living in such an abysmal state, Once as beautiful as sunlight dancing on the waters, is now desperately looking for an escape, It can't shake off that feeling of pity, the pity on itself, Maybe it should just give up and die with whatever nonexistent integrity that it has left, It cries in pain, it cries in horror, The horrifying state that it's in is bringing it dishonour, Still it clings onto what's left of its life, it clings onto it so forcefully, Even though it's skin tears off and bones crack, it dreams of basking in its lost glory, But what even was that glory? What can it even be called, For the more it tries to remember, the more it is appalled, Appalled by the idea that this might have been the best it had ever seen, The idea of its delusional glory days being seen as obscene.
