Snarls and fangs, teeth bared all white, Howls that cut the air like razor strokes As the pack cornered me in moonlight. Irises glowing in the dark as they shine, Haunches ready to spring on command Ears pricked ready for Alpha's demand. But I stand firm the fir trees at my back, Watching old Beta circle slowly around To cut off escape when they all attack. I'm an Omega wolf, I stand alone, aloof, A threat to those that so things by rote Cancer to be cut out torn by the throat. My coat is thick and my muscles taught, I'm grizzled and angry and so dangerous In tougher scrapes have I been caught. I look at Alpha sadly, death rain down, I have caught and clawed for survival Why can't some see friend, not a rival?

A animalistic poem. I dig it. Not that I am surprised on the range of subjects you cover. I am past the point of being surprised at the depth of your writing and the topics, yet I will say you still bring aras into poetry that make me think....how in the heck did he even think about that topic and turn it into art πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
