The word best friend leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I used to use that word hoping that a friend would put in as much effort as me. I seem to attract people who use my kindness for weakness. Leaving it a one way street, where I'm left wondering what I did wrong yet again. Are there any friends still out there? Willing to give as well as take? Am I asking too much? I pray and pray for friends. I catch myself wishing on stars and tossing pennies into wishing wells.
