I stared at the distant hollow eyes, Searching for a shred of hope. My palms pressed against the glass, Praying it would reach out to me. Calling out its name, And begging to be heard, My cries were lost in the silence That screamed back without a word. The face staring back, Had cracks on its skin, Stitched together with smoke and quivering seam. I used to know who I was, Chasing fleeting pleasures without pause. Now I search aimlessly for a return, But the mirror only reflects a stranger drowning in a void. A smile played on its lips, As it whispered faintly to me — I am who you are, Whatever that may be.
