"Slow and Steady wins the race", It's what the old proverb says, I believe it's totally true And don't hold a contrary view. Time-tested truth it is Which may not the youth please For they expect results in split seconds, In truth, they want them in nano seconds. They want to be on fast lane, So their every nerve they strain To be the first at the winning post That they may in the media boast. Not because I am quite old And find myself at the threshold Of life's long road, The 'slow' dictum I have followed.
