'"Be not for ever a pessimist", Thus advised my friend, an optimist, "A pessimist sees only the darker side While there lives a brigher side" After long a life of five and eighty, And experiencing upheavals mighty, The optimism once I cherished Gradually and silently perished. People cry for a life of peace And pray for the violance to cease, But each day brings more sorrow, Everyone dreads the coming morrow. Young and old are alike violated, Their faith and dignity annihilated By the heartless stuffed with arrogance, With the least fear of consequence. People are deceived with fakery Which is nothing short of treachery, Such scums escape scotfree, They who deserve no mercy. Religion, language and ethnicity Become the greatest casualty When bigots and megalimaniacs walk Causing havoc with their malicious talk. Scientific advancement and inventions many In unscrupulous hands causes tyranny, What could benefit the mankind Is used for selfish needs by the unkind. A unwavering pessimist I am now, I have become as docile as a dove, Optimism is to me a lost ideal, For to me everything seems unreal. Raghav R 25.10.2025
