Daddy, teach me how to swim, It's not just a whim, I want to tour the sea And see all the creatures there be. I want to see the Sea King In whose palace nymphs sing; I read this in a story book, I am eager to have a look. I will hitch a ride on a dolphin's back, Who'll follow each ship's track; I'll wave to the people on the deck Until they become a tiny fleck. Stories many I have heard Of rich ships lying buried Deep on the ocean bed, Whose passengers are long since dead. Stones precious, silver and gold The ship is said to hold, I'll swim and search around To see if any can be found. I'll swim to the coral reef And plead for a story brief Of how they came to life Where living is not without strife. I'll swim the oceans and the seas Till my arms and legs freeze; It'll still be a pleasure Which I shall always treasure. Raghav R 10.09.2023
