I've only been taking, as you can see — from the earth, strangers, from family. I've only been taking— from the trees, the sun, the river, from my mother. I didn't think I'll end up this selfish but yesterday, momma, who was washing rice in in the kitchen and who, quite possibly tired and annoyed with my constant need for attention snapped at me, "Some people overdo things" and I couldn't tell whether she meant me or my neighbour or my cat because cats are as much people as people are people. So I went out, and it wasn't so bad. I went out, bought a mango sapling, and planted it in our backyard.
