Have we given it a second thought, Have we reconsidered, The words before we speak, Or the emotions behind a thought, Or the trigger behind a response? Have we reconsidered, Examined fruit, Or listened to the heart over the words spoken, Habitually accepting truth? Love is not an emotion, It's a decision. If dressed like an emotion, It becomes theatrical, Unbalanced, irrational, and lacking wisdom. Let us reconsider the posture of our heart, And the words we waste or leave idle. Let us not pour water on dead trees, Nor leave another thirsty. Let us not entertain dogs, While leaving the sheep lost. Love does not take over, Aiding does not take the lead, And coercion is manipulation masked as care. Have we reconsidered, Identified the tree by its fruit, Have you trialed a man by his reasoning, Have we listened to the words of the heart? Only feed the hungry, Water is for the thirsty, Deliverance is for the children, Oil is for the lamp. Eyes to see, Ears to listen, Heart that loves, And a mouth that knows when to speak. Revisit, reevaluate, revise.... reconsider!
